![]() Editor" button, then the sample loads in my editing app, I do a tweak or two, then hit "Save," which replaces the old sample file with the new fixed one. So what do you guys (who are on Macs) use as an external editor? Ideally I'd like to use an app that when I hit the "Ext. Plus I kind of miss DP, Logic is cool, but DP has it's strengths too, and in fact will work better networked to Live 5 running on a powerbook. Especially since it will host AU on my tower while I send MIDI from Live 5 to it. ![]() ![]() I could go through a few extra steps and save the audio file to the same name, but it seems a bit cumbersome. I'm thinking DP at 149 for the upgrade is a better choice than Peak or DSP Quattro. Sounds good to me!īut unless I'm mistaken, ProTools wouldn't be the best option for this, because when I hit "Save" in ProTools, it saves the session, but not a tweaked version of the audio file. Click the "Ext Editor" button, edit the sample in whatever audio app, then save it, and the old sample is replaced with the fixed one. That little "External Editor" button seems perfect for these minor little fixes. Maybe there's a click I can fix with a pencil tool, or maybe the volume curve could use re-drawing, or whatever. RX9 by iZotope is REALLY powerful for all sorts of things like getting rid of pops/cracks, de-reverbing, isolating vocals & way more. used to use audacity as a DAW before i used ableton, so not sure about its potential as an audio editor. even the stock plugins in ableton are super powerful. But sometimes I find that one or two of the samples have minor errors. depends on what youre trying to do when 'editing audio'. I do all my initial sample editing in ProTools, then I drag them into Kontakt.
